After almost nine years at PBase.com, I'm moving my photos over here to Zenfolio.com. It's a slow process, and for at least the next few months all old photos, plus some of the new galleries, can still be viewed on the PBase site. For faster viewing, all photos shown here are very low resolution versions, from 1% to 5%, of the high-res originals. All photos sold as prints or on CD will be in the original high resolution. Smaller size prints can be ordered directly from this site. Larger sizes that show "resolution too low" must be ordered by contacting me at: chuck@2007ac.com

Specializing in action sports photography, including surfing, sailing, motorsports and team sports. Over 40 years of experience participating in and photographing action sports on land and water. All photos were shot using Sigma/Foveon cameras and lenses exclusively, including the Sigma/Foveon SD9, SD10, SD14, SD15 and SD1 cameras. Most of the images in these galleries were shot using Sigma 50-500mm lenses, in both OS and non-OS versions. The Sigma 50-200mm, 17-35mm and 120-300mm lenses were also used.

When I moved from film to digital I chose Sigma over other DSLR's due to the native sharpness and true color I've only found with Sigma's Foveon sensors. And no, I'm not paid by Sigma / Foveon. They are just the best for what I need in a camera and lens system.
